Deferências

Porque será que sempre que se fala em Najaf nas nossa rádios e televisões, ou se escreve "Najaf" nos nossos jornais, não falta nunca, associada a ela, a expressão "cidade santa dos xiitas"?

Não professo nenhuma religião, mas confesso a minha estranheza pela ausência do mesmo tipo de insistente tratamento deferente em relação a Fátima, Lourdes ou outro qualquer lugar sagrado para outra qualquer religião?
